HIPAA & your health privacy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
Right now: a reservation, not a medical record
During this pre-launch phase, a reservation includes a few details about why you want a note (the reason, how you're doing, and the dates you need). Because no clinician reviews your request and there is no treatment relationship yet, this is not a formal medical record or protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA. We still protect it: it's encrypted in transit and at rest, limited to the staff running the pre-launch, and never sold.
Our commitment at launch
When the service launches and a physician reviews your case, we will handle your health information in line with HIPAA and applicable state privacy laws. That means:
- Encryption of your information in transit and at rest.
- Access limited to the reviewing clinician and staff who need it to provide the service.
- No sale of your health information, ever.
- A full Notice of Privacy Practices describing your rights, published before a clinician reviews any request.
